Nikka Coffey Gin

Better known for their whisky, Nikka has produced both vodka and gin for the Japanese market for years. The Nikka Coffey Gin, 47%, is their first export gin. The gin is produced from a blend of "rich" and "mellow" spirits in their Coffey still a Miyagikyo Distillery. It is created with traditional gin botanicals (juniper, angelica, coriander, lemon and orange peels), but also zesty and exotic "Japanese citruses: Yuzu, Kabosu, Amanatsu and Shequasar." There are also notes of apple and sansho pepper.

Nikka Coffey Gin's complexity is achieved through the perfect balance between 11 selected botanicals and the silky texture of Coffey distillates. The bright and zesty aroma originating from four kinds of Japanese citruses, Yuzu, Kabosu, Amanatsu and Shequasar, compliments the traditional gin botanicals of juniper berries, angelica, coriander seeds, lemon and orange peels.
There is also a touch of apples, a fruit deeply related to the history of Nikka, followed by pleasantly tangy hints of green Japanese Sansho pepper on the finish.

The Coffey Still is the world’s first patented continuous still invented by Mr. Aeneas Coffey in 1830. The excellence of Nikka's Coffey distillates has been widely recognized through our Coffey Grain and Coffey Malt whiskies. In 2017, a new gin and vodka joined Nikka's Coffey range to further show the uniqueness and beauty of this traditional type of column still - the Coffey Still. Copper Stilled in Small Batches: Every drop of alcohol that goes into a bottle of Sipsmith has been distilled in copper. Copper draws out the impurities and cleanses the spirit. It’s what makes Sipsmith spirits so incredibly smooth.

One Shot Method: One of the only gins in the world to use the “One-Shot Method”, meaning we use exactly the right amount of botanicals in our distillation so that we only need to add water to bring it down to bottling strength. 99% of gins are made using a concentrate which is diluted with neutral grain spirit and water. This neutral alcohol has had no contact with copper nor the botanicals so it produces a harsher, less balanced gin.

Hand Cut: We only ever retain a tight heart cut (the highest quality) of the liquid which is cut by hand. Much like a fine single malt, it’s what delivers our uncompromising quality of spirit.

Rivo Gin

The Rivo GIn hails from Lake Como in North Central Italy. The gin makers take after the witches of local legend who wandered the countryside near the lake and foraged herbs for their own esoteric use. Lemon Balm and Thyme are among the botanicals used. The gin is incredibly pretty with a big hit of floral perfume, and underlying notes of lemon, tea, and culinary herbs.
