"Assured, balanced and elegant, it has intriguing layers of intensity that are both surprising and delightful. Sweet honey and tempered spices come cloaked in warming smoke. Citrus zest, ripened tropical fruits and caramel swirl within hints of tobacco and raisins. The long, smooth, soothing finish is complex and fascinating - a myriad of influences played out over a subtle tapestry of peatiness."

The top of the line for the core Johnnie Walker Lineup. The prestigious Blue Label first entered the market in 1992. Some of the whiskies in this blend are between 30 and 35 years old and it is composed of at least 13 different malt and grain whiskies. The main distilleries in the Blue Label DNA include Linkwood, Caol Ila and Royal Lochnagar. 40% ABV.

The Gold Label from the Johnnie Walker line of Blended Scotch has a small but strong following, likely due Clynelish being one of its core components. The likes of Cardhu and Caol Ila also make up the base of this blend which contains a total of 14 to 16 different distilleries in its makeup. Much of the marketing talks about it being best served chilled, but that is entirely up to you. Bottled at 40% ABV.

Previously dubbed the Johnnie Walker Platinum Label, this 18 year old was originally released globally in 2012. There are 14 to 16 malt and grain components in this Blended Scotch whisky, with Blair Athol, Glen Elgin, Mortlach and Cardhu doing the heavy lifting. Bottled at 43% ABV.
Producer Tasting Note
Nose: A wonderfully rich aroma, combining notes of rich, sweet fruit with hints of toffee and caramel.
Palate: A comforting mix of warming, malty cereal and smooth creamy vanilla, with fragrant notes of almond and tropical tangerine.
Finish: A lingering finish with hints of dark chocolate, citrus peel and a very light, aromatic smoke.

A vatted (blended) malt from Johnnie Walker. Jim Murray awarded this 15-year-old Green Label a very impressive 95 points in his 2010 Whisky Bible! Gorgeous notes of dark chocolate, coffee and oak — and a great price — make it a standout. The cornerstone malt in the Green Label are provided by Caol Ila, Talisker, Cragganmore and Linkwood distilleries respectively. Bottled at 43% ABV.
