Globally launched in 2010 - the Double Black takes the concept of the original Johnnie Walker Black Label and amps up the smoke and richness. 40% ABV. On top of using a larger amount of younger whisky in the blend to give a more full and concentrated profile, the Caol Ila portion of the mix is apparently bumped up to a slightly larger percentage than what is in the regular Black Label. More heavily charred casks are also used to provide this bolder flavour profile.

Nose: A wonderfully rich aroma, combining notes of rich, sweet fruit with hints of toffee and caramel.
Palate: A comforting mix of warming, malty cereal and smooth creamy vanilla, with fragrant notes of almond and tropical tangerine.
Finish: A lingering finish with hints of dark chocolate, citrus peel and a very light, aromatic smoke.

A vatted (blended) malt from Johnnie Walker. Jim Murray awarded this 15-year-old Green Label a very impressive 95 points in his 2010 Whisky Bible! Gorgeous notes of dark chocolate, coffee and oak — and a great price — make it a standout. The cornerstone malt in the Green Label are provided by Caol Ila, Talisker, Cragganmore and Linkwood distilleries respectively. Bottled at 43% ABV.
