Famous for producing complex, floral wines made from Mencía, Ribeira Sacra is probably Galicia’s second-best-known wine region. Tolo do Xisto is a new project from the team at one of our favourite Spanish wineries, Coca i Fitó, with the Galician winemaker Andrea Obenza. Ribeira Sacra. The name Tolo do Xisto means "mad about slate". The winemaking process strives to transmit the mineral essence of the area through the different soils along the Sil River banks. A mineral, almost salty wine, is achieved which is aromatic, with good acidity. Penetrating smooth tannins, acidic red fruit, balsamic notes, and spices, but above all, it is very delicate with a long finish. This wine is light enough to enjoy with grilled fish like salmon or tuna. terrific with white meats it is also one you'll enjoy on its own when you don't want something too heavy.

Coca i Fitó of Monsant in Catalunya, Spain is a small family production operated by two brothers, Toni and Miquel Coca. The brothers grew up around vineyards and eventually started making their own wines in 2006 after years of working for other cellars. Their individual talents compliment each other: Toni makes vibrant and well-defined wines, while Miquel is a true artist for design and running a wine cellar, if you notice all of the labels from Coca i Fitó are wonderfully designed by Miquel.
Montsant, like the Priorat, is a remarkably beautiful region with steep mountains that rise more than 3,300 feet above sea level. The climate is harsh: hot summers and bitter winters. The vines are planted directly on the steep hillsides, on what are called "coster" or terraces.
Toni Coca is a master in getting the most out of his grapes: mature fruit expression and structure without sacrificing freshness. It's no surprise that he is sought after as a consultant throughout the country. In fact, he works for over 15 different projects. Toni was also voted as the best winemaker in Catalunya in 2018.
The story of Jaspi wine begins in the high-elevation region of Monstant, a beautiful area within Catalunya, Spain. Here, we see beautiful summer days and mild, warm evenings, making for a perfect place to grow Garnacha, Carinena, Sira, Garnacha Blanc and Cabernet Sauvignon.
Coca i Fitó has perfectly captured the essence of Monstant. The Jaspi wines are a classic rendition of the region style, showing balanced boldness with hints of minerality. Ruxe is made by Andrea Obenza of Coca i Fitou, a highly respected producer based in Montsant. This Ribeira Sacra project is made from the Mencía varietal, a red grape that is gaining favour around the globe. The wine is made with the notion of conveying the mineral essence of the area by blending grapes from different schist soils found on the banks of the Sil River. An Atlantic wine, mineral, saline, aromatic, excellent acidity, tart fruits, soft tannins, herbaceous notes and sweet and savoury spices. The result is a medium-bodied wine with excellent length.. This is 100% Mencía from the Ribeira Sacra produced from 70 to 80-year- old vines on the "Os Conventos" estate. The terrain is rocky with little organic matter. It's a limited production wine that is only produced in years in which ideal harvest conditions exist. It is an intense and powerful wine, with a lots of black fruits, spicy, mineral, fresh, saline, with a long finish. It spends 12 months in 400 litre French oak barrels. This is the Galacian project from Coca i Fito in the Monsant region of Spain.
