He was good at his job, but ruthless, earning the nickname "Dictador." This gorgeous Colombian rum is made from raw sugar cane nectar that has been matured for more than 20 years in a solera system, which gives the rum rich, complex flavours: roasted coffee, caramel, honey, dark chocolate. This Solera System rum from Dictador has an average age of 12 years old. The liquid that is bottles was distilled from Sugar Cane honey/juice in a combination of copper pot stills and stainless steel continuous stills and aged for 8 to 14 years in refill oak barrels.

About Ron Millonario
In 1904, in northern Peru, the Hacienda Agrícola de Chiclayo was founded in Chiclayo, a small settlement between the sea and the mountains known as the ‘city of friendship.
Here, a group of farmers united to trade their sugar, and to this purpose they built, at great personal sacrifice, a small refinery. The Hacienda was purchased in 1922, the family of Peruvian landowners Piera de Castillo, with Don Rolando at the helm. In 1950, some years after the purchase of a Scottish column still, Ron Millonario was officially born.
The rum was the fruit of hard work, but since few could afford to sample it, it acquired the name “por los millonarios”, in acknowledgement of that exclusive club of individuals wealthy enough to buy the spirit and enjoy its unique charm.
In search of new products, Fabio Rossi landed in Peru in 2004, and discovered a warm, rich product that was a pleasure to drink. He had stumbled upon a genuine treasure of Peru.

Dictador XO Insolent is a solera rum made from the fermentation of unique virgin sugar cane honey. It is then distilled in a modern stainless steel alembic before aging in pre-used quality oak barrels from Jerez and Porto. The barrels are periodically emptied and then recharred to caramelize the interior to achieve sweet flavours coming from the oak. The rum is then returned to said barrels to continue their maturation. This is a truly unique and very decadent rum.
Producer's Tasting Note: "This rum has a deep, noble mahogany-shine, an unforgettable colour in the glass. When the bottle is opened it releases a hypnotic aroma, intricate roasted honey, pure vanilla, royal toffee, mature oak and parfait caramel. In the mouth it is extremely smooth, with a range of exquisite flavours starting with fudge, intense vanilla, parfait caramel, and Colombian coffee, with a long consistency balanced with light oak giving you the sensation of extreme quality and satisfaction of sweetness and strength.
