57.1% - Cask 153118 - 1st Fill Sherry Hogshead - Another dark dram from Single Cask Nation - this one from Arran's Lochranza Distillery. Distilled in December 2015.

Nose: Opens with an intense dried fruits, lots of fig, raisin and chewy leather notes. There’s a floral sweetness too.
Palate: Medium bodied with a warming texture. Lots of the classic sherry notes here with Christmas treacle, chocolate cherry gateaux. A generous serving of muscovado sugar coats the tongue. With time in the glass, the richness of the dram really opens up.
Finish: Long and lingering, with the oak notes leaving your tongue tingling.

Distilled in 2014, fully matured for 10 years in this cask and bottled with a fair bit of reduction to 57.1%, it's a big, darkly fruity, spicy and robust wee sporran-warmer of a dram. Ideal for taking generous swigs of from a hipflask while rambling around Arran, or any other bits of Scotland you happen to find yourself in."

The 25-year-old Arran is now part of the Lochranza Distillery's core range, though a very limited part of it. Currently an annual release, only 3000 bottles are available world-wide. It was matured in a combination of ex-Sherry and Ex-Bourbon casks which were filled in the distillery's first few years of operation. 46% ABV. We have a mix of 2023 and 2024 botltings. Mostly the latter.
