This 10 Year Old is the flagship bottle of Edradour Distillery's heavily peated Ballechin line. It is bottled at 46% ABV, non-chill-filtered and with no colouring added. Ballechin is peated to a level of 50 PPM, and the 10-year-old is a combination of mostly ex-Bourbon casks with some ex-Oloroso Sherry casks put in the mix just for fun.

"Equilibrium is our ongoing attempt to create whiskies that display a balanced sherry and peat flavour profile. Always featuring the two single malts from Edradour distillery. This second release is a mix of a 2005 Edradour and a 2005 Ballechin, both matured full term for 16 years in 2nd fill sherry hogsheads and bottled with slight reduction at 55%. We're very happy with the result. It's a slightly lighter and more subtle expression than Equilibrium One, showing more complex earthy notes, dry wood smoke, herbs, cured meats, dark fruits and tobaccos. Layered, rich and highly sessionable. We think anyone who enjoys peat and sherry together will find plenty to enjoy here."
