Alberto Siegel Lubbe was a German architect, born in 1870. He built some of the most important and traditional buildings in Santiago from the 20th century, including the Reserva Federal de Chile building. His son Alberto Siegel Dauelsberg was a winegrower in charge of well-known vineyards. Later he studied agronomy and acquired experience in some wine cellars in Germany. In the Colchagua Valley, for more than 30 years, Alberto Siegel Dauelsberg planted the first vineyards, now known as Viña Siegel. Viña Siegel has more than 700 hectares planted with vineyards distributed in seven regions, strategically located at the foothills of The Andes.

Alberto Siegel and his father founded Viña Siegel (now Siegel Family Wines) in 1980. They started planting vineyards in Colchagua and building the Winery in Santa Cruz. When Don Germán died in 1998, Alberto became the owner, together with his family. Initially, Viña Siegel only sold bulk wines to the biggest Chilean wineries, like Concha y Toro, San Pedro and Santa Rita. In 1997, Alberto decided to enter the bottled wine business and made the necessary investments to go ahead with this project.
The Colchagua Valley is located in the Central Zone of Chile. It is a 'Transverse Valley", which means that it is a valley formed by a river, in this case, the Tinguiririca, running east-to-west towards the ocean. The valley cuts out at a ridge or mountain at right angles. The Colchagua Valley is the leading fine-wine-producing region in Chile.

Hector and Pablo Durigutti were born in Mendoza, the cradle of Argentinian wine and were raised together. Produced from 100% Bonarda, the grapes for this wine are sourced in the Fiambalá, Catamarca, an elevated agricultural valley, that were planted in a pergola in 1938. Valle d'Aosta is an Alpine region in North-West Italy known for expressive and mineral-focused wines. The first authentic records, found in the historic archive of the Valle d'Osta, state that the first appearance of the Grosjean Family name was around the 16th century. Originally from Switzerland, the Petite Arvine grape has adapted well to the valley’s conditions. Introduced to the region during the 1970s, it occupied the central part of the valley and was planted at an altitude between 600 and 900 metres above sea level. It has become well suited to their draining steep mountainsides. A recent study shows that the Petite Arvine seems to have a close link to the native Prié Blanc grape. Try it with appetizers, white fish and poultry.

The oldest vines, averaging 60 years of age, are the source for the flagship red, spending 24 months in French (80%) and American oak barrels, and another three years in bottle prior to release. It is capable of another decade or so of age.
