"The King's Ginger was specifically formulated by Berry Bros. & Rudd in 1903 for King Edward VII. King Edward VII literally lived life in the fast lane. He would endlessly drive his horseless carriage (a Daimler), whatever the weather. So much so, that in 1903 the Royal Physician became concerned about the monarch’s health. So, he called on Berry Bros. and Rudd for a solution, a bespoke liqueur that would warm and revivify His Majesty. Crafted from fresh ginger, (for centuries celebrated for its medicinal properties) and enlivened by the judicious addition of citrus oil, The King’s Ginger was born. Rich, golden and delightfully crisp in flavour, it helped King Edward stay colourful and ready for whatever came next. While wonderfully uplifting and enjoyable on its own, The King’s Ginger comes to life in social situations (just as King Edward did). From the Brewery; "Backcountry began on one fateful Christmas party where its five owner-operators first met. After a few beers and a bit of banter, they realized they all had the same dream and decided to join forces as they each had a different piece of the puzzle to opening a brewery. This new group of friends decided on brewing in the beautiful mountain town of Squamish BC, head brewer John Folinsbee’s hometown. Since opening the brewery, tasting room, kitchen and retail store in 2017, Backcountry has found a nice groove in BC’s craft beer scene. At the BC Beer awards that same year, Backcountry was awarded “Rookie of the year” with medals for all three core beers as well as “Best Social Media”.

ddh Hazy Ipa. The next turn in our Opacity series is here! This beer is packed full of local craft malts from @HogarthMalt and @RedShedMalting and a selection of our killer selected hops. We are super stoked on our hand-selected Citra this year due to its high oil content and overpowering tropical and citrus character. We decided to pair it alongside another one of our personal favourites Krush with a hefty dose of Riwaka Amplifire Oil. The result is a completely jam packed haze bomb with notes of exotic citrus, sweet lychee, and kumqaut peel.
