When Philippe Faury took over the domaine in 1979, the family was selling wine, peaches and cherries, and the bulk of their clientele was local. The distillery has never really cask much of a shadow here, but we are seeing an incredible range of releases available all of a sudden. Better still, a range that spans all ages and a whole load of unique expressions. If you're not a Tomintoul person, maybe now is the time to dive in. Truly an underappreciated whisky.
