Henri Sélèque planted vines in the 1960s on the renowned terroirs of Moussy and Pierry and began bottling his wines in 1969. Richard, his son, an oenologist, brought the property into the era of modernity and technical precision, while expanding the family wine heritage. Since 2008, Jean-Marc, the third generation and an advocate for more ecologically balanced viticulture, has anchored his production in the search for authenticity and expression of terroirs. There's no splashy chateau here, the winery consists of a few basic struct5ures; the real investment is in the vineyards and winemaking. This is a blend of 50 % Chardonnay, 40 % Meunier, and 10% Pinot Noir, A portion of the wine (30%) is aged in oak with the balance in stainless steel tanks.stainless steel tanks and without fining or filtration. It's brut nature so no sugar is added.

Limit 1 Per Customer! You should all know by now that we're big fans of Tamdhu. They're one of the true vanguard protecting the legacy of sherry maturation in the Scotch whisky world and, sadly, there seems to be fewer and fewer distilleries able to produce in this style with each passing year. In short, we're pretty fortunate Tamdhu is holding standards high. To say we were excited for the arrival of the 18-year-old is an understatement. This one has been on our radar since first whispers made it over here. Hate to do it, but we've gotta limit this one to one-per-(customer/family/household) for now.

"This third release has been created using an expertly balanced combination of three cask types – first-fill sherry seasoned American and European oak casks and a smaller quantity of refill casks for balance and depth. Using a higher proportion of Orkney peated malt, our Master Whisky Maker, Gordon Motion, has achieved an intensely smoky character, coming through first on the nose with aromas of smouldering peat and lightly charred oak, balanced by honey-glazed lemons and crushed aniseed.

"We’d like to take this opportunity to introduce you to That Boutique-y Brandy/Calvados Company with this 21 Year Old Calvados. This is a particularly intriguing Calvados from Christian Drouin. The story for this one begins at the very end of the year 2000, when the spirit was distilled. Distilled under Appellation Calvados Pays D’Auge Contrôlée, meaning the ciders may contain a maximum of 30% perry pears, and pot still distillation is mandatory. A sherry cask full of the spirit was sent over to Bristol for maturation (similar to how some Cognac is "early landed"). This is a real treat for any Calvados aficionado, one of only eight ‘'early landed' casks ever to be produced. Since that time, laws have changed meaning Calvados can no longer be aged outside of Normandy - so this sort of thing will not happen again, making these bottles extremely rare!"
About the Label
"Our label, designed in-house, designer Toby Dowling has a number of stories tied up in it, as you’d expect. The Lionheart is a reference to Coeur de Lion. The distillery has the trademark for spirits, but a little while back, that budget Camembert brand issued them a cease and desist so they don't use it any more. The route is the route the cask took, Ms Sherry Wood is obvious, and, the stamp shows the cows grazing beneath the high-trunk apple trees they have."
