EXCLUSIVE TO KWM - Nose: Not exactly a typical Bowmore. Earthy with notes of caramel, toffee sauce, gentle sherbet and hundreds and thousands ice cream topping. Palate: Rich and very sweet. Coffee beans and vanilla sweetness but with smoke very evident throughout. Finish: More smokey sweetness gives this dram a very reassuring finish.
Duthies Hazelburn 9 Year

Nose: The sherry cask influence is immediately apparent. Rich and fruity; figs, stewed fruits and a sweet caramel note. Palate: Weightier than you would expect from a triple distilled whisky. Vanilla ice cream and stewed fruits contribute to a very rich mouth feel. The Campbeltown character is very evident here. Finish: Rich, fruity and lasts forever!

My Tasting Note:"Nose: notes of Demerara and brown sugar start things off along with dried maple syrup crust, jujubes and fruit candies as well as some spicy oak; Palate: really spicy, treacle, melted brown sugar and maple syrup, rich Christmas spices and lots of dark fruits that build into round chocolate notes; Finish: long, spicy, drying and sweet with more brown sugar and dried maple syrup.

Kilchoman is an Islay Distillery that opened in 2005. At the time of construction it was the first new distillery on Islay in over 120 years. It is a farm scale distillery with a production level equivalent to Edradour, Scotland's smallest distillery. The distillery malts some of its own barley on site, and grows a proportion of it on its own estate. Kilchoman is a distillery to watch!

Auchentoshan is one of the last remaining Lowland whisky distilleries and is unique as it is the only distillery in Scotland to continually practice triple distillation of their spirit. This 1977 has been bottled at 32 years of age and at an alcoholic strength of 49% . It was matured in ex-Oloroso sherry casks and released as a very small and exclusive batch of just 240 bottles.

This whisky is a stunner for its age and price!
