NAS No.1 Blended Malt 30 Year
$599.99
In this case, NAS cheekily means Notable Age Statements... and it is no exaggeration in this case. This whisky is composed of Signatory cask samples, and bottling run ends (partial bottles), married into a fresh sherry seasoned cask already at least 16 years of age. The whisky is now at least 30 years old, with much of the liquid considerably older. Some it is from closed distilleries, and some of it is from the 1960s! 91pts Whisky Fun & 90.47pts Whiskybase
Scotch Malt Whisky Society Smokus Frutic

SMOKUS FRUTICOSUS

The 2022 (7th) Edition of Compass Box Flaming Heart has been built around powerful malts from Laphroaig, Caol Ila, and Talisker, tamed a bit with others from Glen Elgin, Balmenach, and Highland Park, and that's not all. This Blended Malt consists of a wide range of components including remnants from the 2018 Flaming Heart and Peat Monster Arcana. 48.9%.
Producer Description
“This is our seventh edition of Flaming Heart, the whisky that revels in the harmonies between heavy peat and toasted French oak. Imagine Metallica with a backing orchestra, and you’re getting close. With the best bands, each album is an opportunity to explore and experiment; every record is an evolution from the one before. For fans of Flaming Heart, we always seek to evolve the ‘sound’ and have introduced a deep fruitiness to the arrangement for the 2022 version.
“The smoke machine is powered by a combination of malts from the Laphroaig, Caol Ila and Talisker distilleries, while our Highland Malt Blend has spent more than five years in richly toasted virgin French oak custom casks to deliver round, booming spicy richness.”

Who Was The Sändebud?
Colin Campbell (1 November 1686 – 9 May 1757) In 1720, facing ruinous debt, Campbell fled Edinburgh for Ostend, where he made a name for himself as a merchant. Eyeing an opportunity in Sweden, in 1731 Campbell teamed up with two well-connected merchants, Niclas Sahlgren and Henric König, to form the Swedish East India Company, a powerful trading business that brought new wealth to Sweden. As the Company’s main driving force, Campbell oversaw many of the highly lucrative trade missions to the Far East. Campbell himself was Sweden’s first Ambassador to China. As Gothenburg grew into a major maritime centre, so too did Campbell’s influence and wealth. He was knighted, naturalised and became a Swedish noble. An honourable man, he kept his word and paid back the substantial debts he’d accrued as a younger man back in Scotland. Campbell died in 1757, and was interred in Gothenburg Cathedral. Campbell documented his first voyage but destroyed the manuscript to stop it being seized when the Dutch boarded his ship. He later reconstructed it from memory and it was published in 1996 (A passage to China: Colin Campbell’s diary of the first Swedish East India Company expedition to Canton, 1732-33).

Compass Box Peat Monster Cask Strength
$157.49
Limit 1 Per Customer!
Sadly 9000ish bottles don't go very far when you have a global brand like Compass Box... so the Peat Monster Cask Strength is limited to 1 per person!
Producer Description
"To mark its 20th birthday, and to celebrate America's influence on Scotch whisky more broadly, we have brought The Peat Monster back to where it all began. We originally created a peaty whisky called Monster for the Goldstein family at Park Avenue Liquor Shop in New York City, in 2003. It turned out to be so popular that we created a new batch, renamed it The Peat Monster and it joined our core range. The Peat Monster - like most Scotch whiskies – owes its maturation vessels to the US whisk(e)y industry and its practice of using casks only once."
