Ezra Brooks Kentucky Straight Bourbon
$31.99
Quintessential Kentucky Straight Bourbon, just the way we like it: big and bold!
Ezra Brooks KSB is a heavily-awarded Kentucky bourbon which has only recently relocated to Bardstown and set up shop with their 43 foot custom copper still. The location may be new, but this is the same ol' juice you've known and loved since the 1950s. A triple mashbill of corn, rye and (just a little) barley means this one is a sweet and spicy treat and pretty much what you'd expect for a rye-heavy bourbon. The 45% abv only serves to amplify the flavour nuances.
Producer Tasting Note
Caramel and vanilla with hints of spice and chocolate for a smooth, warm finish.

BUCKING BRONCO
This 3 year old bourbon out of Arkansas comes in at 57% after maturing in a new oak barrel.
Outturn: 210 bottles
Panel's tasting note: "Some panellists went corybantic-crazy for this (not sure they’ve recovered yet!) – the nose bursts with brandy snaps, banoffee pie, juniper berries, cinnamon and liquorice – one panellist imagined playing cards in a mahogany-panelled speakeasy with a gangster’s moll (living dangerously!). The palate was dry as wood shavings, with burnt orange, black tea, cinnamon bark, cloves, dried figs, cherries, marzipan, dark chocolate, honey and well-torched crème brûlée.
The reduced nose developed all the polished leather of a rodeo and the Tiger Balm muscle rub required after one. The palate now found clove and orange pomanders, cherry brandy, peppermint and astringent wood – quite an experience!"

Elijah Craig KWM Single Barrel Bourbon
$69.99
Our first exclusive single barrel of Elijah Craig, and our first exclusive Bourbon cask in over a year. This one has taken quite some time to reach us, probably due to the fact the distillery changed agents midway through the process. It has actually arrived in-store 2 weeks shy of the one year anniversary of our selection of the barrel. Barrel 5214622 was matured in Warehouse F / Floor 3 / 17F. It has been bottled at 47%, as is typical for the brand.
Andrew's Tasting Note
Nose: nutty with musty old oak, fresh cut cedar, maple butter and beeswax; orange rinds and candied cherries; a touch of chocolate, leather and tobacco.
Palate: sweet, toasty and very nutty; pecan pie and butter tarts, roasted almond and salted peanuts; more cedar shavings and smouldering oak; becomes leathery with some tobacco, aromatic bitters and dark unsweetened bakers chocolate; late spices, maraschino cherries and orange peel.
Finish: long, smooth and elegant; the darker notes burn off first leaving the decadent oak, spices and fruit tones to follow later.
Comment: it goes without saying that this is a brilliant single barrel, would KWM put its name on anything less? true to our style we have sought out complexity over intensity with respect to the oak influence.

Blanton's Original Barrel
$86.99
According to the Blanton’s website, “The finest bourbon in the world comes from a single barrel. That’s the way Colonel Albert B. Blanton first bottled his private reserve bourbon nearly a century ago. Blanton believed the “center-cut” or middle sections of Warehouse H were the best for aging his bourbon. Personally tasting and choosing each barrel, these barrels were reserved and bottled for ambassadors, dignitaries, family and friends becoming the world’s first single barrel bourbon. His time-honored tradition lives on today as only a handful of barrels from the center of Warehouse H are selected to become Blanton’s Single Barrel Bourbon."

Jack Daniels Barrel Proof 64.5%
$79.99
Prepare yourself, for this is no shrinking violet. Jack Daniels Single Barrel at Barrel Proof weighs in at 129 proof. Made from Jack Daniel’s typical mash bill of 80% Corn, 12% Rye, and 8% Malted Barley. The mash was distilled and then put through the Lincoln County Process before being put into heavily charred virgin oak barrels made at the distillery’s own cooperage. Single barrel releases from Jack Daniel’s are typically 4 to 7 years old. 62.5% ABV
At its base level, the Lincoln County Process used to make Tennessee Whiskey means that the new make spirit or white dog/white lightning is filtered through sugar maple charcoal before being put into barrels to age. Jack Daniel’s has its own version of this, wherein the distillery burns sugar maple boards/ricks to a heavy char and then sprays them down with water to prevent complete combustion. After burning the new charcoal is ground into pellets and packed into vats through which the 70% ABV new make spirit filters through. The filtered spirit is cut to 62.5% ABV and put into heavily charred virgin oak barrels to age away.
