Andrew's Tasting Note
Nose: deep, dark, nutty and very sherried; unsweetened bakers chocolate, prunes and bacon grilled figs; a touch of rubber and jammy fruits; damp tobacco, firm new leather and dried berry fruits: cranberries, cherries and Glosset Raisins.
Palate: big, rich, spicy and sherried; very nutty, big Oloroso sherry tones, walnut liqueur and more firm leather, tobacco and dark bakers chocolate; latex tubing and a struck matches; more bacon grilled figs and prune juice before Dutch licorice and cloves.
Finish: long, coating and very sherried; drying and nutty with dark fruits, spices and a whiff of gun smoke.
Comment: this is a big, sherried beast; tarry with a very nutty, dark and spicy profile; there is a touch of sulphur, so this one is not for disciples of Panama Jim; but those who like their sherry cask whiskies big, bold and dark who don’t mind a touch of struck matches, will love this; a dram for after a day of shooting clays!
