Only 6 bottles of this 62 year old single malt will ever come to Canada... we sold two in the fall of 2019, and have just acquired two more! The whisky is a tribute to George Urquhart, the second member of the Urquhart to run the business. The whisky was bottled in 2019 from a single first fill Sherry butt of Glen Grant, laid down in 1956, the year he became the senior partner. 235 total bottles we released World Wide from cask #4455.

Producer Tasting Note
Nose: Rich fruitcake aromas complement notes of raisin and dried fig. Dark molasses entwines with Seville orange peel leading to beeswax polish. Fresh roasted walnut and burnt toffee notes come to the fore.
Taste: Sweet initially with bursts of vibrant citrus. A slight humidor edge transforms into juicy sultanas and dark chocolate coated coffee beans. Liquorice toffee flavours develop alongside mature charred oak and mouth-warming spice.
Finish: Long and complex; subtle hints of smoke with lingering dark liquorice.

Exclusive to KWM in Alberta, the Shelter Point Smoke Point is the distillery's first ever peated expression. The whisky was matured 5 years in ex-Bourbon before finishing for 9 months in ex-Laphroaig Quarter Casks. 1044 bottles were produced with just 36 coming to Alberta.
Producer Description: "Introducing Shelter Point’s first ever peat influenced whisky. This single grain smoky delight has been aged in American oak ex-bourbon casks for 5 years and finished in casks previously used by a famous Islay distillery for 8 months. This special bottling consists of only 1044 hand numbered bottles. The whisky is made from malted and unmalted barley and picks up influences of bourbon from the American oak cask and peated whisky from the ex-Islay casks. Sweet, smoky and complex, this whisky is perfect for a dram by the fire."

SEA, SAND AND SOOT
This 11 year old from Islay was matured in a refill barrel and is 62.4%.
Flavour profile: Oily & coastal.
Outturn: 181 bottles.
Panel's tasting note: "Mineralic sea air came laden with the sweet smell of vanilla ice cream cones and cinnamon on seaweed. Coal dust and soot sprinkled down onto a sandy beach as driftwood and the frayed remnants of ship's rope washed up on the shore. The sweet fragrance of hibiscus flowers drifted into Earl Grey tea and spicy sandalwood like a lucid dream whilst a whiff of the medicinal delivered tea tree oil and salted blackcurrants.
Sticky cherry cola and pink wafer biscuits became balanced by the tartness of kumquats and lime relish with a suggestion of turmeric and lemongrass. A combination of salty rocks and gravlax returned us to a maritime mood as the finish wrapped our senses with warm butter and pepper."
