This 12 year old Inchmurrin is the baby in the range released in 2013 by Loch Lomond. Bottled at 46% without colouring or chill-filtering the whisky was matured in Ex-Bourbon casks.
Inchmurrin is the name of a single malt produced by Loch Lomond Distillers, which is one of the last in Scotland to employ a Lomon Still. The still has plates which can be mainpulate to create different styles of spirit.
Distiller's Tasting Note
Nose: A luscious combination of citrus fruits, spring flowers and honeysuckle.
Palate: Layers of lemon, tangerine and pear with ginger and liquorice highlights. The perfect introduction for any single malt drinker.
Finish: Light, gentle and very smooth with a faint hint of vanilla and aniseed.

Bottled for the Islay Festival, Feis Isle in 2011. One French Limousin oak cask was chosen by a select group of Jura residents from the distillery's warehouses and this cask has yielded just 493 bottles. It was then bottled at a cask strength of 54%.

All Things Whisky Tasting Note
Nose: Big, big, big florals. Like eating freshly churned vanilla ice cream out of freshly carved oaken bowls. Malty. Orange marmalade and pepper. Some dried fruits, cinnamon and candied ginger. Maybe some syrupy pear…maybe apple…either way, some white fruit.
Palate: Wine-ish. Some coffee notes and dark chocolate. Dried fruits and figgy bits. Moves on into tannic plum skins. Some nuts and oak.

This 12 year old expression from Jura is a bargain at just over $60. The whisky has been matured in both Ex-Bourbon and Ex-Sherry with the former giving a creamy back bone and the later adding dark fruits. Well worth of a gamble, but if you don't believe us, pop in for a taste.
