Now available in the perfect little bottle! A grower-producer in the heart of Chigny-les-Rose, Giles Dumangin has champagne coursing through his veins. Dating back to the 1650's, the Dumangin's have always worked with the vines of Champagne, but it wasn't until 1890 when Hippolyte Dumangin created Champagne Dumangin in the 1er Cru vineyards of Chigny-les-Roses. Five generations later, Champagne Dumangin is producing an array of wines, from their classic feminine style to their newer, high-end cuvees. This Cuvee 17 is (almost) an equal blend of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier, and is one of their newest additions to their line. Cuvee 17 is a natural style champagne, but this is serious wine! With 33% of the bottle consisting of reserve wine, it creates a fierce complexity and opulent notes of elderflower, banana, lemon cream and hints of brioche. Perfect as an aperitif, with appetizers or with fresh seafood.

All her grapes are grown in a single plot of 2.5 hectares, which is also the total size of the domain that Dominique Moreau founded in 2000. Because all her wines come from a single vineyard, she has decided to emphasize the differences in champagnes through vinification. There are wines matured in barrique, amphorae, enamel tanks and one without sulfur. All come from the 2.5 hectares of single vineyard on the Kimmeridge marl soil of the Soden, on the Côte des Bar. Winemaker Dominique Moreau, who named the estate after her grandmother, is a master of purism. The venerable 15-Year-Old from GlenAllachie has received an updated label which no longer looks like it came from the town of Bedrock as designed by a modern stone-age family. The new label hosts more readable fonts and a baby blue background.
First launched in 2019, The GlenAllachie 15 is said to be the "jewel in their crown" for the distillery. Bottled at 46%, the whisky was finished in puncheons and hogsheads that previously held Pedro Ximénez and Oloroso sherry.

About Speyburn Distillery
Speyburn describes itself as a light, classic Speyside style single malt. Founded in 1897 at the height of a whisky boom the distillery is fairly large given the fact it is not that well known, producing 4.5 million litres with most of that going towards Blended Scotch Whisky production. Poorly known though it may be, Speyburn has outsold each of its sister distilleries (Old Pulteney, Balblair and anCnoc aka Knockdhu) every year since 2005. The distillery underwent a major expansion in 2015 and rebranded over the course of 2017/18. Those new whiskies have now landed in Alberta!
One interesting fact, Speyburn was the first distillery in Scotland to move away from floor maltings. In 1898 they installed a drum maltings which was used until the late 1960s. The equipment is still available to be seen, protected by Historic Scotland.
