Leclerc Briant Saignee Rose Champagne
$169.99
Founded in the village of Cumières in 1872 by Lucien Leclerc, the winery moved, in 1955, to the premises it still occupies today in Chemin de la Chaude Ruelle in Epernay. It was also at this time, thanks to the dynamism of Bertrand Leclerc, the great grandson of the founder, and of his wife Jacqueline Briant, that the estate-based business changed its status to that of a Maison de Negoce or trading house. In 2012 Leclerc Briant was saved from oblivion when it was acquired by Mark Nunelly and Denise Dupré, an American couple who are great enthusiasts of the French "art de vivre" and who fell in love with the nonconformist character of the House. They are joined by Frédéric Zeimett, a native of Champagne, who since then has led the House to the marches of Champagne codes, serving the expression of a unique style that is now internationally recognized.
Marie Courtin Efflorescence Brut 2014
$154.99
A Kensington Wine Market exclusive! The champagnes from Marie-Courtin are truly something special. An ultra-fine, elegant style with amazing freshness. Delicate and racy, yet absolutely unique in style thanks in part to biodynamic viticulture. All her grapes are grown in a single plot of 2.5 hectares, which is also the total size of the domain that Dominique Moreau founded in 2000. Because all her wines come from a single vineyard, she has decided to emphasize the differences in champagnes through vinification. There are wines matured in barrique, amphorae, enamel tanks and one without sulfur. All come from the 2.5 hectares of single vineyard on the Kimmeridge marl soil of the Soden, on the Côte des Bar. Winemaker Dominique Moreau, who named the estate after her grandmother, is a master of purism. Her champagnes are delicate and elegant, yet with underlying power and a high degree of drinking pleasure.
Champagne Dore 1er Cru Brut
$79.99
The Maison Doré’s history is steeped in tradition and esteem. It all began in 1928. The Maison has passed from generation to generation of winemakers in the Doré family for almost a century. In 2014, Gérard Doré called on his neighbour and friend, Jean-Guy Monmarthe, to take over the reins of the Maison Doré. A sixth-generation winemaker himself and head of the Maison Monmarthe, Jean-Guy works hard to ensure that each bottle leaving the estate retains •Doré’s true character.
