Highland Park 40 Year
$15,000.00
Producer Description
First released in April 2008, HIGHLAND PARK 40 Year Old is batched in very small quantities with only 10 casks selected for each bottling – it’s the culmination of years of whisky-making knowledge and experience.
Described in Whisky Magazine as ‘an incredibly well drinking Highland Park… sharing some of the 18 Year Old’s refinement but taking it into a different league’, our 40 Year Old is both highly complex and beautifully balanced, a rich and luxurious single malt at once deep, aromatic and smoky, yet singing with the sweetest notes of soft toffee, dark chocolate and fragrant orange zest.
Andrew's Tasting Note (From 2008)
My tasting note from Highland Park Distillery on Monday September 8th 2008. 48.3%
Nose: strawberries and whipped cream, fresh peach, crème brule and white chocolate.
Palate: dark fruits in fresh whipped cream with dark chocolate, honey and smoke show up later.
Finish: buttery and mouthwatering with honey, fresh fruit and rich cream.
Comment: As my friend, Jane would say, "it tastes like more!" Although Highland Park has not positioned this whisky to be a collectible, it is beautifully packaged and a real treasure.
Little Engine Pinot Noir Silver
$56.99
When you hear the children's book The Little Engine That Could, you would never expect for it to pave the way for this small production winery. Naming themselves after this children's fable, this winery promotes only the truest expressions of their wines and terroir. Focusing mostly on Pinot Noir & Chardonnay, they aim to bring only elegance and freshness to their wines and only believe in using French oak. This Pinot Noir is a single vineyard production, expressing tart cranberries, red cherries and maybe even a touch of dried hibiscus. Showing beautifully now, but also will develop through until 2023.

No Ordinary Gin (Asta Morris)
$109.99
NOG! - or No Ordinary Gin is a whisky infused premium small batch gin bottled by Asta Morris - an independent bottler of Scotch Whisky headquartered in Belgium.
Testing the boundaries of what qualifies as gin, the NOG! is a long departure from traditional London dry. Expect orange powdered candy, near vitamin C chew-able in its sweet, sharp tang, slight tones of chalky minerality, alongside butterscotch and vanilla tones likely originating from the barrel ageing this spirit has been subjected to. Widely acclaimed by the tasters as a winter evening spirit or digestif to be, once more, consumed by itself.

With its full body and it's well defined tannins, this wine is perfect to pair with grilled beef.
Establishment Vapours 4pk
$22.49
From the Brewery;
Vapours is smooth, creamy, oddly reminiscent of your morning OJ and oatmeal, and proof that “bright” and “cloudy” can coexist.
Hazy IPA, 6.7% ABV | Orange Juice, Zesty, Haze
Cosimo Taurino Salice Salentino Riserva
$32.99
A blend of Negroamaro (80%) and Malvasia Nera, picked from vines 15 to 20 years old. The wine spends between four and six months maturing in French oak prior to bottling. Close to ten years on since the grapes were picked, the wine is currently showing wonderful lavender, cherry and raspberry notes along with integrated acidity and minerality. Getting a decade-old wine that drinks this well at this price is impressive and as such it remains one of the great bargains in Italy's vast wine realm. It would pair nicely with lasagna or roast chicken.
About The Winery
Cantina Cosimo Taurino was founded in 1970 by the legendary Apulian producer, Cosimo Taurino. He was a pioneer of Negroamaro, and of the Apulian wine industry, changing its reputation of the 'not so great southern region that only produces bulk grapes for the north' to a region known for its high-quality red and rosé wines. Ever since the winery first opened, they have continued to grow and produce some of the best wines Puglia has to offer.
Darroze 30 Year Armagnac
$209.99
"For several generations, the Darroze family has scoured Gascony in the Grands Crus centre of the Bas Armagnac region...Each age on the bottle indicates the age of the youngest Armagnac in the blend," according to the Darroze website. "Maturity begins at 30. The fresh fruit is transformed into dried and candied fruit, the spicy character asserts itself, the first aromas of "rancio" appear and the alcohol is perfectly mellow. The fiery youth softens and relents. This Grand Assemblage is the perfect example of magnificent balance that one finds in eaux de vie of this age."
