The MacIntyre family purchased the property in 2001. Although the beginnings were humble, the promising craft of a young winemaker inspired the MacIntyres to invest extensively and pour their hearts into this wild venture. Lake Breeze is undeniably one of the most beautiful wineries in British Columbia. They honour the sense of place, the land and pride in agriculture, through careful and meticulous viticultural practices. They and their family of growers on the Naramata Bench produce exceptional fruit from which we create our portfolio of fine wines. We endeavour to take the natural expression of the grape and transfer it to the bottle with minimal intervention.

Although its location, its terroir and its reputation largely deserved to be included in the 1855 classification, the Toulouse-Lautrec family, owners of Siran, legitimists and faithful to their family tradition, had declined the invitation to be included in this “Bonapartist classification”. At one time classified Cru Bourgeois Exceptionnel alongside the châteaux Phélan-Ségur, Haut-Marbuzet, Chasse-Spleen, Château Siran is now charting its own unique and singular path on the road to excellence. There have been ownership changes as one would expect from a winery that is 165 years old. In 2007, Édouard Miailhe took over the reins of the estate from his parents ( who also own Châteaux Palmer, Pichon-Lalande and Ormes de Pez). He has undertaken very important investments to restructure and modernize the vineyard, the vat room, the arrival of the harvest, the aging cellar, the tasting rooms, the shop and the cellar. These considerable efforts allow Siran today to fully assume its place as one of the assimilated Classified Growths of 1855.
