Words alone can't express how happy we are that this whisky hasn't been shuffled through half a dozen or so cask types before bottling, as is usually the way with Jura (and a few other brands under the family's umbrella). Ex-Bourbon maturation and more than two decades of slumber tell us that this saline little malt from the Isle of Jura's only distillery should be a real cracker. We also appreciate the 46.7% bottling strength.

Paul Zinck's wines have always been synonymous with great value and his Gewurz is no exception. This is a family owned winery in the small Alsace village of Eguisheim, just south of Colmar. Today, the vines are grown respecting a belief in sustainable production, along with organic and biodynamic agricultural methods. Bottled for Heads& Tails at 51.7% by The Whisky Agency, this rum from Demerara Distillery's Port Mourant stills in Guyana was ditilled in 2002. The Port Mourant style made by Demerara Distillers uses old double wooden pot stills. The style was originated by Albion distlllery which used a long gone wooden Coffey stiil. Albion Disitllery shut down in 1968.
