Since 2014, Evening Land Vineyards has been under the aegis of Rajat Parr & Sashi Moorman, a vigneron tag-team loved for their work in California at Domaine de la Côte and Sandhi Wines. But Evening Land's story truly begins in 1980 when the MacDonald family planted the famed Seven Springs Vineyard in south-eastern Eola-Amity Hills, Willamette Valley. The MacDonald Family farmed and sold this magical fruit to the brightest names in Oregon winemaking for decades. It wasn’t until 2005 when Evening Land Vineyards was born that this esteemed vineyard became a monopole, so to speak. Evening Land leased the whole of this treasured vineyard from the MacDonald family outright that year and a star-studded team led by Dominique Lafon of Burgundy fame took the helm, transitioning leadership to Sashi Moorman and Rajat Parr in 2014.

""In 2008, Chichibu Distillery was opened by founder, Ichiro Akuto, and it was the first new distillery to open in Japan in 3 decades. Ichiro’s grandfather owned the famed Hanyu Distillery, which closed in 2000. Ichiro then took possession of all the whisky stocks left behind in the Hanyu distillery and used them in the blending production of the world famous Ichiro’s Malt Card Series. Chichibu whiskies are much in demand globally due to limited production and award winning quality. Ichiro Akuto is revered globally as a master craft distiller, producing some of Japan’s best whiskies today. This rare expression whisky is a marriage of single malts from Chichibu, Hanyu and Scottish distilleries that have been aged in various casks for undisclosed amount of years. These are then blended and aged in Wine Wood casks from prominent wineries from around the world and finished in special French Ovum casks for final maturation. "With Signature Series Edition 3 'Duero Discovery', you'll discover the influence of an excellent quality wine cask on our Arran Single Malt. The red wine casks used in this bottling were previously used to mature wine from the wine-producing region along the Duero River, in northern Spain, before they arrived with us in Lochranza. This rich, ruby amber coloured whisky is a Premium 12 year old unpeated example of Arran Single Malt.
"The Duero Discovery was initially matured for 6 years in first and second fill bourbon barrels and then transferred into first fill Spanish red wine casks and matured in our dunnage warehouse number 4 under the watchful eye of Distillery Manager Stewart Bowman for a further 6 years. Stewart has blended the resulting whisky from these casks at the optimal age of 12years and is proud to present an unusual maturation of Arran Single Malt bearing his signature and seal of approval."
