We have a new release from Scotland's smallest distillery... I can't back up that statement about them being Scotland's smallest distillery, but it was on their website. Given there is only one man making the whisky, and he only distills when he's not farming... it is probably true. What is undeniable is that the whiskies are lovely, legitimately rare, and in my opinion, it might be one of the best batches we've seen on this side of the Atlantic!

Producer Description
"The barley variety Publican was grown in the 43ac field and harvested by John and Sandy on the 28th & 29th August 2009. It was then dried and stored on the farm to be malted in Alloa during the summer of 2010. The twenty-seven first-fill barrels, which had previously been used to mature bourbon from Clermont Springs distillery in Kentucky, were matured on the upper level of our dunnage warehouse. They were filled in June, July and August 2011 and bottled in September 2023."

The 2003 vintage: Winter preceding the 2003 harvest was very wet. Flowering took place in bright warm weather at the end of May in some of the best conditions seen for several years. The first two weeks of August provided the intense summer heat which often precedes a great Port vintage.
