Coravin Timeless Three Wine Pres. system
$399.99
The Coravin wine preservation system has become the standard tool of the trade for wine importers and collectors alike. It allows you to draw measured amounts of wine from a sealed bottle while injecting a harmless inert gas blanket on top of the remaining wine. The claim is that it will preserve the wine for years, something we have not had the opportunity to put to the test, but there is no doubt the system works. Last week we tasted a top-notch Oregon Pinot Noir from Cristom that had been under Coravin gas for several months, and the wine was perfectly intact. The kit includes the Coravin Three, 2 gas cartridges, 2 screw caps (as there are now plenty of premium wines under screwcap) and one aerator.
Additional capsules can be purchased as well, allowing you to pour up to 15 five-ounce (150ml) glasses of wine. If someone feels like a glass of really good wine but doesn't want to commit to drinking the bottle, the Coravin system just might be the ticket.

This bottle contains...
A cider we'd like to drink all day, every day.
All Day is a blend of cider with strawberries and a cider macerated on whole blue and red plums for 8 months.
The strawberries and plums together reminded us of something floral we couldn't quite put our finger on. We decided to lean into it and added a small amount of lavender.
What's it like?: Strawberries and lavender are perfectly balanced in this vintage—they arrive at the same time in the aroma. The purple flowers play off the soft florality of these fresh Ontario strawberries.
The sharp, short tannins of our dark plum skins ground our flowers texturally, just present long enough for a quick kiss on the cheek. Plum acid gives the petals a springboard to jump onto your tongue, without making this blend too sharp. We'd call this 'medium' acidity, whatever that means.
All Day is perfect for surreptitious jaunts in the park. Soft and chuggable.
6.7% ABV

Dal Forno Valpolicella
$223.99
Only Quintarelli can rival Dal Forno, and the two wineries are in a class of their own, not only in the Veneto but all of Italy. The Dal Forno family has been making wine since 1983. Located in Val D’Illasi, the estate consists of 65 acres of vines planted to traditional indigenous varieties of Corvina, Corvinone, Rondinella, Oseleta and Croatina. The estate vineyards and farm are located where the slopes begin to rise toward the mountains and sit 1,000 feet above sea level. The loose, alluvial soils, meticulous pruning and scrupulous viticultural techniques ensure remarkable-quality grapes. The Dal Fornos use traditional methods to grow the finest fruit, and then employ modern techniques to produce the best wines — classic in expression and modern in purity. Dal Forno Romano is well-known for a number of superior wines that range from the region’s famous Valpolicella and Amarone to unique bottlings such as Vigne Seré, a passito dessert-style wine.
