Nocillo 24 Walnut Liqueur Nastro D`Oro
$46.99
Liqueurs don't often get us excited at Kensington Wine Market, but Bryan and Evan loved this Walnut liqueur. The liquid is dark, sticky and somewhat sweet with a great depth of flavours: cinnamon, vanilla and nutmeg. At 40% it drinks nicely on its own, especially on a cold day, but would also be an interesting cocktail ingredient!
Nocillo or sometimes Nocino is a liqueur made from green unripened walnuts that are harvested on June 24, St. John's Day. This day is regarded as the best for harvesting the nuts as they are juicy, but the shell has not hardened so they can easily be cut in half. The nuts are macerated and fermented with sugar for 90 days.
Scapa Skiren
$79.99
Considering Scapa has a production capacity of nearly a million and a half litres per year, it's an absolute crime that we see no more than two official expressions from the distillery. While we can only shake our heads in frustration, it's hard not to be impressed by this young coastal gem. Everything you'd expect in an island malt is here (yes, including that tangy oceanic salinity), but there is also an impressive array of fruit notes that elevate this one beyond what should reasonably be expected in a glass of whisky this affordable. Great, highly-drinkable malt from Orkney.
40% abv
Producer Tasting Note
Nose: Delicate scented floral flavours with a hint of fresh pear. Sweet and fruity pineapple notes with a citrus tang.
Palate: Smooth and sweet, ripe honeydew melon slices, bursts of fruity pear and lemon sherbet.
Finish: Long, refreshing, shimmering sweetness.
Torres Gobernador Pisco
$37.99

It is produced using a process centered on a single distillation as the best way of preserving the terpenic aromas of the grapes."
Nastro d`Oro Sambuca
$37.99
A fruity, sweet, aromatic liqueur from Italy that's been made on Campania's Sorrento Peninsula since 1996. Ingredients include anise, spices, licorice, citrus, elderberries (sambucus) and elderflowers. Serve it at the end of your next big Italian feast or, really, at the end of any big meal with friends and family. Delicioso!
Terra Vecchia Organic Rose
$19.99
Here's a charming Rose to enjoy from the island of Corsica. French by geography, but Italian by influence! “Terra Vecchia” literally means “Ancient Lands” in Corsican and refers to the ancient vinicultural region where the vines grow. Ile de Beauté (Island of Beauty) is a delightful wine that opens with an explosion of red berries and tangy citrus notes nicely complemented by delicate aromas of fine spices. Perfect for relaxed get-togethers, as an aperitif or paired with any Mediterranean cuisine, especially seafood and fresh cheeses.
Casa Noble Tequila Blanco
$64.99

"Triple distilled for a well-balanced and smoother-than-glass finish, this Blanco is in a class by itself."
Iris Vineyards Oregon Pinot Noir
$47.99
This Pinot Noir exudes aromas of ripe black plum, cherry blossom, cranberry, orange peel and baking spices. On the palate the wine is medium-bodied with rich black cherry, plum and pie cherry, with hints of white pepper and minerals. The long, smooth, clean finish leaves you wanting another sip. Enjoy with grilled wild salmon, roasted chicken, or a variety of cheese and fruit.
Jack Ryan 12 Year Old
$124.99
This whiskey is a tribute to 100 years of the Ryan Family at their famous Beggars Bush pub on Haddington Road, in Dublin’s Ballsbridge. Bottled at 46%, this 12 year old Irish single malt is sourced from casks produced at the Cooley distillery. Matured in Ex-Bourbon barrels.
About the Producer: "There’s been a pub on the site for at least 200 years. Thomas Ryan became proprietor in 1913, the eve of World War and of Ireland’s independence. He was a traditional vintner and whiskey man – sourcing, maturing, finishing and bottling his own Ryan’s Malt, a firm favourite among discerning locals in The Bush and the other Ryan houses.
"Thomas handed on the pub, and Ryan’s Malt, to his son Jack, born to the trade. Jack maintained the whiskey tradition into the ’40’s, when the near demise of the whole Irish whiskey business forced a pause.
"The Ryans still own and run The Bush, and have revived the family’s whiskey tradition. The Jack Ryan Beggars Bush 12 Year Old Single Malt won an Irish Whiskey Award in 2014. The Centenary 15 Year Old Single Barrel Cask Strength was released in 2015, and more small batches of premium single malts are planned; watch out for the Jack Ryan 15 Year Old Single Malt – The Bourdega."
Giusti Prosecco Extra Dry Rosalia
$24.99
The beautiful Giusti winery was created in Italy's beautiful Veneto region, just outside of Treviso, by Calgarian Joe Giusti. Born and raised in the region, he moved to Canada when he was a teenager, but now splits his time between the two countries. This gorgeous, bubbly wine is a fantastic aperitif, and it makes a beautiful gift, too. It's fresh and clean, with notes of apple, citrus and flowers. Served chilled, it pairs with a variety of Italian-style appetizers.
