Burgos Porta Mas Sinen Coster
$78.99
Mas Sinen is the name of the 15 hectares of organic vineyards and winery run by Poboleda native Salvador Burgos, a man of incredible energy and enthusiasm. Situated on a steep hillside outside the village, where only mules, not machines, work the land, Mas Sinen produces 4 wines, some from rare pre-phylloxera grapes which yield tiny quantities of juice. His friend, Sergi Mendez shows us around, explaining the mineral-rich content of the water that trickles down the hills through the llicorella soil is potable. “We try to put our terroir into the bottle,” says Burgos. The yield is so tiny, that 2 vines yield no more than a glass of wine. The grey stone-faced winery is small but old, boasting of basket-presses ranged alongside steel tanks. In the tasting room, we taste the 2018 Mas Sinen. It is still a baby, Burgos declares, “It will be ready in 2021, after 6 months in barrel.” Burgos’ wines are ageworthy, but he shrugs this away with “Yes, it can age. But wine is made to be enjoyed, and because Priorat production is so small, its wines are rarely aged. They are drunk very quickly.”
Durigutti Bonarda
$22.99
Hector and Pablo Durigutti were born in Mendoza, the cradle of Argentinian wine and were raised together. Their childhood and their home were always connected to a sensorial world, with aromas, ingredients and flavours that, over time, motivated them to choose the path to become enologists. As adults, they would find these familiar memories and similar passions. In 2002 they dedicated their efforts to the creation of a small family winey. Today the brothers have evolved to form a new generation of winemakers, leading an evolutionary change in Argentina’s viticulture. Their range includes the value-driven Abeja wines and the upper-tier Las Compuertas offerings produced from the oldest vineyard sites.
Great value and a Kensington Wine Market exclusive! Brought to Argentina in the 19th century by Italian immigrants, Bonarda is the most widely planted red grape variety in Argentina. Also known as Charbono, Corbeau or Douce Noire, the grape was historically grown in the Savoie region in the French Alps. DNA analysis has proven that the Argentina Bonarda is in fact not related to the Italian grape Bonarda di Chieri and Bonarda del Monferrato from Piedmont. The grape produces a light, fruity wine that is sometimes served chilled. The Durigutti brothers, Hector and Pablo, have made an exceptional example of this little-known variety.

From one of the rock stars of the Argentine wine scene! With 18 months in new oak barrels, this 100% Malbec from Lujan de Cuyo will certainly make its presence felt in your mouth. Smoky, toasty, and minty aromas fill the air, but as this wine opens up, we find well-developed red and black fruits like black cherry and raspberry. Always garners high marks from the wine critics, and our customers love it, too.
Durigutti Malbec Familia
$79.99
Made in a racy, elegant style, the Familia is sourced from two Mendoza vineyards, one 56 years and the other 66 years of age. Inky purple, it offers an expressive perfume of cedar, tobacco, violets, lilacs, black cherry, and blackberry, which leaps from the glass. This is followed by a spicy, full-flavoured, layered, structured wine with 6-8 years of aging potential, excellent balance, and a lengthy, pure finish. It's a blend of 85% Malbec, plus some Syrah, Cabernet Franc, Bonarda and Cabernet Sauvignon
92 points, Robert Parker: "It proffers a super-expressive, complex perfume of woodsmoke, game, dried herbs, spices and assorted black fruits." —a KWM exclusive.
Ayinger Oktober Fest
$5.99
Oktober Fest-Marzen is a full-bodied, rich lager with a malty bouquet and a hint of sweetness. Color is deep gold and the flavor is a perfect balance: malt backbone with depth & richness; complimented by perfect conditioning from long maturation; and alcohol of 5.6% by volume. Fest-Marzen is spiced with enough hops to make it snappy and thirst-quenching, but in the classic Bavarian style it's not highly bitter.
Krug Rose NV
$634.99
Krug Rosé was born of the House of Krug’s desire to offer the Krug vision of what a Rosé Champagne should be to those Krug lovers who had been seeking it. It is an unprecedented Champagne with the same creative spirit that goes into Krug Grande Cuvée, beyond the very notion of vintage.
Here is the winery tasting note: "Unexpected subtleness of its pale pink colour, promise of elegance and refinement. Aromas of rose hips, cured ham, mulberries, redcurrant, peony, pepper and pink grapefruit. Delicate flavours of honey, citrus & dried fruit with long ending, enhanced by its subtle bubbles”.
Le Clos des Cazaux Vacqueyras Templiers
$48.99
Le Clos des Cazaux estate has been a family property focused on viticulture for five generations since Gabriel Archimbaud, an ancestor, was one of the first to produce wines from Vacqueyras in 1947. It is now owned and operated by brothers Jean-Michel and Frédéric Vache. They farm 35 hectares, 20 in Vacqueyras and another 15 in Gigondas. They own mostly low-yielding hillside vineyards, fashioning high-quality white wines, rosés, and red blends. Their Gigondas vineyards are situated in the heart of the Dentelles de Montmirail massif range that has been in the family since the 1950s. This very special terroir benefits from the solar power of the southern slope, balanced by the cool nights at higher altitudes, mostly on clay soils. The reds are blended primarily from Grenache, Syrah and Mourvèdre. however, they include lesser-known grapes such as Aubun, Counoise, Cinsault, Muscardin and Carignan. The white wines mainly employ old-vine Clairette, complemented by Roussanne, Grenache Blanc, and a little Viognier.
Glencairn Glass Single
$11.99
Fashioned in lead-free crystal; its shape honed to perfection with the help of the master blenders, the Glencairn Glass enhances and extends the tasting experience. This is the glass endorsed by the whisky industry.
It is a pretty awesome glass - let me tell you! The only thing that would make it even better is if it was adorned with the KWM logo.
If only such a thing existed...
