A Single Cask Tomatin released by Sansibar in conjunction with Heads and Tails Canada. 166 bottles total. 50.6% ABV.
Evan's Tasting Note
Nose: Apples, pears, nectarines, vanilla with a hint of citrus (oranges/limes) oatmeal with a shot of milk mixed in, toast, and ovaltine.
Palate: Grainy and a little gristy with creaminess texture-wise. Rolled oats and barley flakes, buttercream, white chocolate fondant, toasted almonds and pecans with a light honey glaze. Light dried fruit notes and a hint of salt.
Finish: Light Spice warmth, nutty and creamy with hints of citrus and vanilla combining with oak.
Comments: A cohesive and very well put-together single cask Tomatin.

This little 12 year old is excellent value and surprisingly good for both its age and price point. This is an excellent alternative to the two best selling 12 year old single malts in the world yon 'fiddich' and 'livet'! Matured in Ex-Bourbon and finished 9 months in Oloroso sherry.

Nose: A complex bouquet contains rich malt and fruity aromas with a hint of peatiness.
Palate: The palate is rewarded with a unique combination of attractive flavours – a balance of apples, pears, malt with a gentle hint of nuttiness enhanced by the subtle use of sherry wood.
Finish: smooth, sweet and very satisfying.

Tomatin distillery's new no-age-statement release uses virgin oak as well as bourbon casks. It provides a new entry level to the Tomatin range but the use of different casks make this a unique expression.
Distiller's Tasting Note
Nose: Lemon, panatella and pine forest. Slightly green with vanilla.
Palate: Cracked pepper and sweet barley with pineapple cube sweets. Waves of warming oak beneath.
Finish: Sweet but peppered.
Overall: A clean and certainly affordable single malt whisky.
