"We don’t usually dabble in blends. Angus will happily remind anyone that he’s an “out and proud malt snob” nine days out of ten. But every now and then, fate drops something into your lap that’s too good to ignore. In this case, it was a tiny parcel of very old, very low-strength North of Scotland grain whisky from 1973. The kind of spirit that practically begs to be given a stage rather than left gathering dust. We married it with sherry-matured blended malt, then folded in a few venerable Speyside malts (peated and unpeated) before giving the whole lot over a year’s rest in a refill sherry hogshead. The result was bottled at a judicious 53%, a few degrees down for balance and drinkability. For the label, there was only one choice: Charlie MacLean. The original champion of blended Scotch, whisky legend, friend, and inspiration. If anyone deserves to front our first foray into blends, it’s him. This isn’t just a blend, it’s a love letter to the category from a bunch of supposed malt snobs. And if you’re going to break your own rules, you might as well do it properly."

"There are many ways to Whiskyland - but, like these two befuddled Vikings, most people have to first get lost in order to find their way here. Whiskyland Chapter Sixteen is a marriage of a 2005 1st fill sherry hogshead of Highland Park, with a 1997 refill hogshead of Highland Park. The resulting 20 year old grog, bottled at natural marrying strength, is a magnificent, multi-vintage take on classical, mature Highland Park distillery character, with a subtle drenching of sherry. So, lash up your sails for a storm, christen all your weapons with names like 'Bone Squelcher', 'Skull Mangler' and 'Thighroid Dispruptor', grab a few nosing horns and pray to your preferred assortment of imaginary Gods that you wash ashore on one of the stretches of Whiskyland coastline that is well-served by hostelry and at least three star accommodation."

Slow Hand Worldwide Pilsner (properly known as FŌM Worldwide Pilsner) is a collaborative craft beer brewed by Vancouver-based Slow Hand Beer Company in partnership with Brassneck Brewery.
A unique twist on a traditional Pilsner, featuring Fonio, an ancient West African grain related to millet.
The Fonio adds a subtle, white wine-like fruitiness. It is brewed with Hallertau Blanc hops, which complement the grain with notes of Sauvignon Blanc, elderflower, and cassis.
