At 6 years old and 110 proof, this Pikesville Straight Rye Whiskey comes to us from Heaven Hill Distillery in Kentucky. A little bit different than its Rittenhouse Rye sibling - Pikesville shows more candied rye notes plus vanilla, toffee and butter scotch along with the more typical Rye spice notes such as cloves and cinnamon/nutmeg. This big and bold yet sweet rye drinks well on it's own or in cocktails.

High West's Double Rye! is the earthier, spicier kin of their Rendezvous Rye. It is a blend of two Straight Rye Whiskies aged between three and seven years. The younger component is everybody's favourite 95% Rye mashbill from MGP in Indiana. The older Rye is High West's own 80% Rye, 20% Malted Rye mashbill. Both of these whiskies are matured in the pre-requisite charred virgin barrels made of American White Oak. Bottled at 46% ABV.

Lot 40 was the brainchild of Mike Booth at Hiram Walker. Mike wanted to pay homage to his family's distilling heritage, and so named this 100% rye grain Canadian whisky for the plot of land where his family set up their distillery. The mashbill consists of both malted and unmalted rye. It is a recreation of a legendary Canadian Whisky Guild whisky.

"Lot No. 40 is crafted in small batches using 100% rye grain in a single copper pot still. This concentrates the spicy rye notes, while retaining the fruity and floral notes from fermentation. The whisky is then aged in virgin white oak barrels to bring forth notes of vanilla, caramel and toffee, resulting in a complex and bold whisky."

This Bottled-In-Bond 100° expression of Rittenhouse is produced in the tradition of the classic rye whiskies that were once the preeminent American whisky style, kept alive through the lean years by Heaven Hill and two other distilleries. The Rye brand takes its name from Rittenhouse Square in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and hearkens back to that states long-lost but once highly regarded "Monongahela" rye whiskies.
