Frappato is Sicily's answer to chillable, easy-drinking red wines. These bottles are loaded with bright acidity and marked by low levels of tannins, with a structure very reminiscent of Pinot Noir, although it's genetically related to Sangiovese.
Gergenti Frappato is made with organically grown grapes, and it embodies the unique charm of Sicily. The grapes are handpicked in early August. After the harvest, the grapes are left to be macerated with their skins for 6 days. Manolactic fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature in stainless steel tanks. Look for juicy red fruits, a little spice, like summer in a bottle.
