India > Scotch and Other Whiskies > Single Malt > Amrut
Amrut is India's first single malt to be exported, and has made quite a name for themselves around the world! This single cask has been selected by the distillery's Brand Ambassador Ashok Chokalingam for the Canadian market. It was matured in Bourbon before finishing in Pedro Ximenez Sherry. 540 bottles have been bottled at 56.5%.
Andrew's Tasting Note
Nose: butterscotch ice cream, Caramilk chocolates, baking spices, warm cocoa and jujubes; soft and fruity with malt, honey and soft toasty oak.
Palate: rich, fruity and malty with more Caramilk bars, big creamy butterscotch ice cream, cocoa powder and baking spices; a little bit of Demerara and nutty tones with some soft leather and chewy licorice candies.
Finish: soft and long with lots of fruits, fading spices and sugars.
Comment: this is a lovely single cask, not enormously complex but very pleasant and rich!
