Lock & Worth is a small winery focused on small vineyard productions and making amazing wines at reasonable prices. They spend all of their money on their wines and not marketing or increasing sales. That's why you'll never see their wines at awards shows or being promoted, other than through us.
Coming from 2 acres planted in 1995. With Sandy soils and from the Naramata Bench. Grapes were gently de-stemmed with 5 days of skin contact. They were then basket pressed and Fermented in neutral French oak for 7 months. This is NOT what you may have come to expect from Okanagan Merlot. Light to medium in body, this is definitely not a big or heavy wine here. Despite the fact that this single vineyard produces amazing and serious fruit which could handle extended time in barrel they feel that the wine should highlight the inherent fruit qualities and not oak or heavy extraction. Bright, light ruby. Sweet red plums, savoury herbs, fine tannins and refreshing acidity. Medium bodied, supple and driven. This is unfined and unfiltered and is slightly hazy.

Osoyoos Larose is a winery found in the heart of BC wine country right in the Okanagan Valley that focuses on creating red Bordeaux style blends. 'Le Grand Vin', as it is called It is typically made primarily from Merlot, with the other primary Bordeaux grapes (Cabernet Sauvignon, Cab Franc, Malbec, and Petit Verdot) playing a supporting role in its makeup. The winery itself is owned and operated by the same owners of the well-respected Chateau Gruard Larose which resides within the Bordeaux region of Saint-Julien.
Here is what Anthony Gismondi has to say about Le Grand Vin 2016 vintage:
"Wow, wow, wow. When the merlot is over 60 percent in this wine, it has always looked better, and this year the 62.5/12.5/11.8/7.7/5.5 blend of merlot, cabernet sauvignon, cabernet franc, petit verdot, and malbec is one of the best yet. The original single vineyard red in BC has nailed the 2016 vintage, with texture, dense ripe tannins, and a smooth, stylish structure that portends much more in the future. It has all the parts: red cherries, stony gravels, floral notes, and a broad swipe of south Okanagan garrigue. The balance is already in place and will serve this red blend for the next twenty years."

Classic style Pinot Noir with red cherry, strawberry, blackcurrant and cola with slate minerality and hints of cedar and sweet tobacco. Pair with fish, duck, pulled pork as well as cheese.

Pinot Noir from their vineyard was hand harvested on October 8th. The soils are mostly granitic but with pockets of limestone. They played around with different percentages of whole-clusters, ranging from 25-75% inclusion. After 21 days on skins the wine was pressed off into neutral barrel. The wine underwent an eight-month élevage before being bottled unfined and unfiltered. 12.5% ABV - Juice Imports
