This one comes from the Laherte family; they both grow the grapes and make the Champagne, which means this one is a "grower Champagne" -- rare, in these days of big Champagne houses. This Extra Brut Rosé is produced with the Pinot Meunier grape variety which comes from plots containing vines around 30 years of age in the Vallée de la Marne.

Medium to full-bodied, ample and fleshy, it's layered and vinous, with a ripe core of fruit and brisk girdling acids. As usual, it's a blend of 60% direct pressed Pinot Meunier, 30% macerated Pinot Meunier and 10% red Pinot Meunier."
Champagne Laherte was founded by Jean-Baptiste Laherte, who set up the family estate in 1889, planting most of the vines in the village of Chavot. The estate today comprises 11 hectares in three distinct areas of the champagne region: Coteaux Sud d’Epernay, Côte des Blancs and Vallée de la Marne.

Since 2005, Aurélien Laherte, the seventh generation, is giving a new dimension to the estate, while following in the footsteps of his father Thierry and his uncle Christian, the Laherte brothers. Laherte Freres provides a range of authentic, pure and unique champagne wines. While relying on the traditional trio of grapes Laherte Freres also has an old plot containing lost grape varietals that were once used centuries ago in champagne. Very unique with few other producers using all seven varietals.

The Philipponnat family has been growing grapes in Champagne since 1522. The House was founded in 1910 by Pierre Philipponnat. Charles Philipponnat took over as CEO in 1999 and has improved the quality and production vastly by implementing smaller oak barrels, keeping different vineyard plots separate and utilizing only the first press grapes It's made from a blend of 65% Pinot Noir, 30% Chardonnay, 5% Pinot Meunier from first press juice, mainly from Grand and Premier Crus grapes from the heart of the Champagne wine-growing area.
20 to 30% of the reserve wines are aged in wooden barrels using the solera system to incorporate older wines without losing freshness.
It's vinified using traditional methods to avoid premature oxidation. Partial malolactic fermentation and reserve wines are aged in casks to allow the aromas to develop complexity. It has a typical dosage of (8 g/litre) to maintain a balance between freshness, fruitiness and vinosity without masking the wine’s character and purity. It's aged on the lees in the domaine’s cellars at a constant temperature of 12°C for three
years, far longer than the legal minimum requirement of 15 months.

2010 Vintage. A grower-producer in the heart of Chigny-les-Rose, Giles Dumangin has champagne coursing through his veins. Dating back to the 1650s, the Dumangins have always worked with the vines of Champagne, but it wasn't until 1890 when Hippolyte Dumangin created Champagne Dumangin in the 1er Cru vineyards of Chigny-les-Roses. Five generations later, Champagne Dumangin is producing an array of champagnes, from their classic, feminine style to their newer, high-end cuvees. Their Vintage Cuvee is a blend of Chardonnay (54%) and Pinot Noir (46%), and with 9 years en tirage (on the yeast lees), the wine shows beautiful and elegant complexity. Expect notes of brioche, grilled almonds, blossom and lemon drops, with a bright acidity that extends the finish. Pair with fresh seafood, or simply enjoy as an aperitif. 2010 was a challenging vintage for the region, but Dumangin did some aggressive sorting and managed to deliver a lovely vintage wine.

A subtle suffusion of oyster liquor serves for salivary stimulation in a long finish that will have you shaking your head in intrigue and delight." 100% Chardonnay and made by Dominique Moreau, who took over a small vineyard of mostly 40 to 50-year-old Pinot Noir, with a vision of producing single-vineyard, single varietal, single vintage Champagnes from biodynamically grown grapes- farmed with meticulous care, and vinified au naturel.

The grapes used to make this Rosé come from selected parcels where the vines are on average 20 years old. The yields are low, which explains the intense concentration and distinct expression of each varietal in this wine. The presence of Mourvedre gives this wine its strong character, balance and complexity. The intense fruit and floral nose make this an attractive rosé. The palate is rounded and full of fruity aromas of peach and pomegranate, followed by delicate spice notes and a pleasant freshness created by an acidic balance
