The Glencadam 21 Year Old was featured on Day 21 of our 2021 KWM Whisky Calendar
Launched in Alberta in 2014, this is a very limited production malt. Most of Glencadam's production is destined for blends, so very little of this makes it to advanced age. 100% American oak matured, it is very elegant with a rich body, bottled at 46%.

Evan’s Tasting Note
Nose: Coconut and chocolate Bounty Bars, Peaches and cream, waxy apple skins, lemon sherbet, a light pina colada note, dry cedar planks, and orange and yellow leaves falling to the ground in autumn.
Palate: Very juicy and creamy with chamomile tea, candied ginger, vanilla buttercream frosting on a red velvet cupcake, more lemon sherbet, passion fruit juice, and saltwater taffy where didn't quite get all of the wax paper unwrapped before popping the whole thing in your mouth.
Finish: Waxy and slightly drying with trail mix on the fade.
Comment: A nicely put-together 21 Year Old that showcases the long marriage of ex-Bourbon casks with Glencadam spirit.
Andrew's Tasting Note
Nose: oranges, mango and banana with caramel and some building spices; citric hard candies, creamy oak and some dusty grains wih floral top notes
Palate: big and coating, muscular but soft with lots of honey and cream, melons and orange; some mango as well, but unlike the nose the bananas are flambeed; it is spicy and nutty.
Finish: long and increasingly spicy/oaky with traces of the fruits that danced on the palate.
Comment: a rich but balanced mid-aged whisky.
