A beautiful tawny Port from 1995! What a wonderful gift for a special someone! Pronounced coal-yate-a, this Port wine is a vintage-dated tawny with specific bottling rules and regulations that enhance its delicate flavors and characteristics. As with all Port wines, the fermentation of a Colheita is interrupted by the addition of brandy. The wine is then aged in wooden casks for at least seven years until it is ready to be bottled; the wood gives it a beautiful softness and complexity. the 1995 offers a dark brick color. The aroma is complex, showing up slightly spicy notes with a smooth, elegant blend of dried apricot and honey. The palate has soft tannins with pleasant and long end.
