Great value! here might be a jester on the label but this wine is no joke. 89 points from Robert Parker's Wine Advocate for the 2012 vintage. The review: "Deep garnet with a touch of purple in the color, the 2012 Jester Cabernet Sauvignon presents a fragrant nose of warm cassis and mulberries with touches of cedar, pencil lead, dried mint and chocolate. Full-bodied with tons of juicy blackcurrant and minted blackberry flavors, it has a good line of medium level grainy tannins, lively acid and a long finish. Drink it now to 2018."

Leonetti was founded by Gary and Nancy Figgins, in 1977 as Walla Walla’s first commercial winery. What is far less understood is that the presence of this family in Walla Walla spans over a century-long into the deep silt loam of this valley. Gary was incredibly fortunate to know his grandparents, Francesco and Rosa Leonetti, and grew up making weekend trips the short distance down the old dirt road to the Leonetti farm they established in 1906. This is the same site where, with a few cuttings of Cabernet Sauvignon and Riesling, Gary would come to plant his first commercial vineyard in 1974 and unknowingly establish an entire industry for our valley. Building off the inspiration he gleaned from his grandfather’s bubbling fermentations on the farm’s dirt floor basement, the only logical thing to do to honour his family’s roots would be to name the winery Leonetti Cellar. Through these experiences, Gary and his son acquired a certain perspective and reverence for our family heritage that guides them to this day. The wine has become the benchmark for Washington Cabernet, capable of aging for 20 years or more.

This Napa Cab uses grapes from O'Shaugnessey Estate Winery's vineyards around the valley, specifically from the Howell Mountain, Mount Veeder, and Oakville AVAs. Predominately Cabernet Sauvignon (91%), the 2019 vintage also consists of 4% Merlot, 3% Malbec, 1% St. Macaire, and 1% Cabernet Franc.

"This wine is getting quite a bit of talk around the valley and far beyond as it is the only Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon made from estate vineyards on Mount Veeder, Howell Mountain and Oakville. Yes, these are the same vineyards we use for our Howell Mountain and Mount Veeder bottlings. The Oakville vineyard resides between our esteemed neighbors on the Oakville Cross Road and has been given a lot of time and attention by Sean and the team over the last several years to truly maximize this site. Our Napa Cabernet is often taken home by the staff and is currently a favorite of Betty and Paul's. They particularly enjoy it with a couple additional years of cellaring."
