The wine shows garnet red hues, intense aromas of ripe, red berry fruit, such as red plum, pomegranate and red vine peach, sweet spices and Mediterranean herbs. On the palate the wine is well balanced, with generous pulp, seamless tannins and an endless finish. Avignonesi’s Nobile philosophy is deeply rooted in balance and terroir. Made of 100% Sangiovese estate grown grapes, the wine shows an elegant medium body, seamless tannins and a unique tasting profile. Our Nobile is a precise portrait of the variety of the Sangiovese growing in the Nobile di Montepulciano appellation. At its first stages it stands out for its exceptional drinkability and over the decades it surprises for its impressive ageing potential.

From a prized single vineyard at high elevation, Casasilia (the estate's original name) is the winery’s most structured and age-worthy wine. 100% Sangiovese, aged in large oak casks for 18 months, it shows layered aromas of dark cherry, fennel seed, tobacco leaf, with a hint of Tuscan underbrush. It's deep, refined, and savoury Chianti Classico Gran Sezelione, ideal for the cellar, but drinkable now with a good decant. Pair with bistecca alla Fiorentina, slow-cooked lamb, or spaghetti with fresh truffles. We have some magnums and 3-litre bottles as well, ideal for the cellar. The 2021 vintage is widely considered as one of the best ever in Chianti.
