As early as 1752, the ancestors of the Pérez family were vine growers in Valtuille, making wine from some of the plots that today form part of the winery. Tradition, experience and respect for the terroir and for the work of their ancestors define the character of their work, mark the profile of their wines and the life of nine generations of the family linked to the family business. Today Raul Perez is recognized as one of Spain's greatest winemakers.
El Castro de Valtuille Mencía Joven is a wine from El Bierzo, made mostly from Valtuille de Abajo grapes, from old vineyards, with a mixture of grapes from all the places in the town. It's a mixture of around 352 mini plots, located in 17 different places.
