We don't see a lot of 30 year old Bruichladdich anymore, and this one, relatively speaking, is pretty reasonably priced, and with good reviews. Bottled at 53.3% the cask type isn't specified, but it is probably ex-Bourbon. 89.33pts Whiskybase
700 mlProducer Tasting Note
Nose: Focussed with hints of espresso, dark chocolate truffles and caramel. Then toasted notes with linseed and extra virgin olive oil.
Palate: Delicate texture, lightly creamy vanilla broadens into panna cotta, chocolate truffles and espresso. Then crisp toasted notes usher in malty, digestive biscuits and linseed. A finale of orange marmalade on buttery, well-done toast.
Finish: Juicy fruit and balancing dryness, with a medley of figs, light oak, toasted notes, espresso, raisins and chocolate truffles.
