"First in the series, this one-time release whisky has all the hallmark notes of CC Classic 12 YO elevated to 15 years with the secondary aging in Oloroso sherry casks. The results are rich aromas of toffee, spice and subtle sweetness with warm and creamy flavours with mellow wood on the palate. Sip neat or over ice."

Nose: Caramel popcorn, boozy Christmas Cake, brown sugar, raisins, and maraschino cherries in a Shirley Temple.
Palate: Werther's Original candies, more caramel popcorn, Crunchie chocolate bar - especially the sponge toffee bit, dates, and ripe, fleshy plums.
Finish: Light and easygoing with more toffee and fruit plus hints of cinnamon and cloves.
Comment: With this and Reifel Rye, there seems to be a fixation with 42% ABV for Canadian Whisky at the moment. This is a definite step up from the regular CC12.

Shots fired! This is the JP Wiser's 42 Year Old answer to the Canadian Club Chronicles series of 40+ year old Canadian Whisky. Oddly enough, the whisky for both come from the 165+ year old Hiram Walker distillery in Windsor, Ontario. The Wiser's 42 Year Old was distilled in 1982 and bottled at a respectable 52% ABV.

When this was originally released it was the oldest whisky ever bottled by Canadian Club, surpassing the prior year's 40 Year; since then they bottled 42, 43, 44, and 45 year olds! The first whisky in the Canadian Club Chronicles series was distilled in 1977 and bottled at 45%, 41 years later. 96pts Whisky Advocate.
