The 2013 Vintage of the popular Benromach Cask Strength is here. Batch 1 was distilled in 2013 and aged for 10 years in a combination of ex-Bourbon and ex-Sherry Casks - all first-fill. The result has been bottled at a cask strength of 59.7%.

The Glenfarclas 105 was featured on Day 7 of our 2021 KWM Whisky Calendar.
The Glenfarclas 105 was introduced more than 50 years ago, back in 1968. It was the first small batch, cask strength Single Malt Whisky released by a distillery. Like everything that Glenfarclas Distillery releases, the whisky within the 105 was matured entirely in ex-sherry casks. No age statement is given on the bottles, but my guess is we are looking at a whisky that is between 7-10 years old. And of course, it is bottled at a bracing 60% ABV or 105 British proof - hence the name. Pour a bit into your glass and it a taste!

Finally, back at a bottling strength that suits this Indian flavour bomb! For the last couple years, we've only had access to the 46%er. That was still good whisky, of course, but this is next level. As soon as we saw it was back in the province, we had to jump.
This spirit starts its life in ex-Bourbon, before being re-racked into Sherry casks, then put back into ex-Bourbon to finish maturing. They like to refer to it as sandwich maturation. In this case...a spicy jam sandwich. Delish!

Cask Strength release for 2024 from the Isle of Raasay Distillery. This release is lightly peated and limited to 8400 bottles for the world after maturing in Raasay's unique cask combination which includes ex-Rye Whiskey casks, ex-Bordeaux Red Wine casks, and virgin Chinkapin Oak. 61.3%.
