This cool young blend is a 2016 vintage composed of 20% malt from the "Edrington portfolio", and 80% North British grain, all of which was matured in Refill ex-Oloroso Sherry Butts before bottling at 57.3%.

Evan's Tasting Note
Nose: Honey barbecue glaze, a dash of coastal salt and ozone, almond paste, plump golden raisins, heather, toffee apples, and creamy vanilla custard with a sprinkle of cinnamon on top.
Palate: Sweet and spicy with a touch of sharp ginger from the grain and the ABV. It attacks your tongue before settling in and staying for a while. Honeyed again with spicy ginger, mandarin orange slices, light roast coffee, plus more sea salt and ozone.
Finish: Very nice length with notes of dried apples and pears, sea salt, heather, honey, ginger and citrus.
Comments: This is a delightful blend where the 20% malt and sherry cask influence covers up a vast amount of the youthful grain that is also in the mix, only allowing the good parts to come to the fore. That isn't the point, though. The point is that you should buy two bottles of this because not only is it that good - it is also insanely inexpensive. "The Fool" in the name must refer to those of us who do not grab a bottle of this before it is all gone!
Andrew's Tasting Note
Nose: sweet, fruity, and sherried, with peppery spices; a touch of malt, clean smoke, salted caramel and corn syrup; earthy and leathery, with loads of silly grain whisky.
Palate: still sweet, more corn syrup, salted caramel, and creamed honey; toasted oak, candied nuts, and dried fruits; more silky grain whisky and rich decadent spices; Jelly Bellies, charred glazed pork belly, and earthy new leather.
Finish: warm, spicy and decadent with more silky grains, firm smoky malt, and sherry spices; and surprisingly fruit.
Comment: this is not a 10 out of 10 whisky... but it is pretty damn good for the price... and the age... it is only 6 years old!
