Château Feytit-Clinet is a discreet but beautiful property, located on the western part of the plateau of the Pomerol appellation. The domaine has been owned by the Chasseuil family since 2000, who have been keen to carry out restructuring work in the vineyard and the winery to get the best out of its great terroir. They own 6.5 hectares of vines, planted on gravelly sandy soils. The grape varieties are 85% Merlot and 15% Cabernet Franc. The wines are aged on average between 16 months in French oak barrels, 70% of which are new. Château Feytit-Clinet produces remarkably well-constructed wines that express themselves with depth and elegance, reflecting the best that Pomerol has to offer. The wines are renowned for their great longevity.

"One of the best-kept secrets in Pomerol is the quality of the wines from Jeremy Chasseuil's tiny estate located between Trotanoy and Latour à Pomerol, just across the street from the Clinet sector. Coming from a 6.32-hectare parcel and a blend of 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc, the 2020 Château Feytit-Clinet sports a dense purple hue to go with blockbuster aromatics of ripe black cherries, cassis, chocolaty oak, leafy herbs, and damp earth. Full-bodied and concentrated, with remarkable purity and ultra-fine tannins, this utterly brilliant Pomerol will benefit from 4-6 years of bottle age and will evolve for 20-25 years or more if well-stored." The 2022 Beychevelle has a succinct bouquet with wonderful precision and focus, pure black fruit, black olive compote and subtle tobacco scents. It unfurls with aeration yet doesn't want to give too much away. The palate is medium-bodied with very fine tannins. There is a newfound sense of clarity that lifts this 2022 above recent vintages. This is unequivocally one of the most elegant Beychevelles on the finish, and it lingers temptingly in the mouth. It’s a benchmark wine for this Saint-Julien.
