Producer Note

"Whisky Sponge Edition No.64 is a mix of two refill hogsheads of 1997 Dailuaine, bottled at natural cask strength of 48.8% after 25 years of maturation. A rather lush and juicy example of Dailuaine. Classic, fuller-bodied Speyside in style with sweet biscuity richness, yellow fruits and soft, peppery waxiness. Two reasonably low-volume hoggies were mashed together and this is the rather delectable 25 year old result. Shows plenty maturity at a hyper-gluggable natural strength without any overt woody elements. Braw! Please enjoy this Dailuaine quietly in a forest glade while wearing a cape and pretending you are in an expensive cinema advert for life insurance."

Producer Tasting Note

“Nose: broad, generously biscuity, naturally sweet, lightly waxy and showing a fatter and fuller Speyside style typical of Dailuaine. Lightly peppery and with plenty of overripe yellow fruits. Palate: the natural cask strength of 48.8% makes for a perfect easy drinking strength here, immediately easy, mouth-coatingly sweet, playfully fruity and hugely pleasurable to sip. Great maturity on display without any tiredness or dominance from the wood. Gorgeous! Finish: Medium in length and with more of these soft peppery, sweet biscuit and juicy fruit notes. Also some drier floral qualities in the aftertaste.”
