Blending Notes

"This release is a blend of blends, taking several barrels that already contained a combination of different mashes and combining them again in pursuit of balance and complexity. We blended 3 parts of a “Full Classic” blend, similar to a past release like Release 30, to 1 part of a “Bold Classic” blend that incorporates some older whisky for a more impactful flavour profile. Neither blend was quite right by itself but combining the two in that ratio resulted in a Classic release that is malt-forward yet still displays a vein of oakiness developed over many years spent resting in barrels. "

Barrelling Info

"Standard combination of ex-Bourbon and Virgin Oak barrels for all of the whiskies, the star is obviously the two barrels that had contained maple syrup. Filled with maple syrup and then rinsed with whisky several times during their lives, the two barrels ended up sitting undisturbed for the last 27 months, allowing the whisky that went into Release 34 to soak every last bit out of the wood and giving ample time for the sugars and alcohol to interact. "

Producer Tasting Note

"The intricate nose is worth mulling, textures of baking spice, ripe fruit, umami and fresh hewn oak. The creamy entry is bright and assertive, spice wrapped sweetness flowing and growing across the palate. A tangle lingers, drying oak with fine sugars and sprinkled spice."
