Producer Description
"The 1976 British Isles heat wave led to the second hottest summer average temperature in the UK since records began. The ensuing drought would have seriously impacted the amount of whisky made that year. 1976 is when the the grain whisky in this blend was distilled. Not only is this a 45 Year Old Blended Grain whisky, but it’s a blend of just two distilleries, both of them long closed, and one of the two, only operating for a very short period of around 22 years before it was closed."
About the Label
"For this 10th birthday commemorative bottling, our label artist Emily Chappell has taken our fabulous Blended Grain label that depicts an old-style clipper boat, afloat on a sea, and expanded it into this mysterious treasure map.. Loving that Vanilla flower compass rose! Tough crowd!"

Nose: Gentle, with vanilla, white chocolate and a touch of coconut,. Fresh sawdust, tinned peaches. Icing sugar.
Taste: Fresh and fruity. Kiwis, blood oranges, a touch of mango. Jaffa cakes, vanilla and soft oak tannins. Delicious, like only old grains can be!
That Boutique-y Whisky Company (TBWC) is part of the Atom Group, which also owns the UK retailer Master of Malt and a number of other subsidiaries. They are a dynamic and innovative firm, who by example invented the Whisky Advent Calendar concept. Established in 2012, TBWC is famous for its playful and colourful labels, which often feature prominent whisky industry figures, tell a story, and or elude to an inside joke. The labels are typically laced with hidden elements and "Easter Eggs."
TBWC bottles whiskies from around the world, though the bulk of their offerings are of Scottish origin. Most of their offerings are small-batch releases, Blended Malts, and Blends. Their "Head of Whisky" is Canadian Sam Simmons.

A very rare and usual Calvados bottled by That Boutique-y Whisky Co. for their 10th Birthday. 21 years old and 41.5%.
Producer Description
"We’d like to take this opportunity to introduce you to That Boutique-y Brandy/Calvados Company with this 21 Year Old Calvados. This is a particularly intriguing Calvados from Christian Drouin. The story for this one begins at the very end of the year 2000, when the spirit was distilled. Distilled under Appellation Calvados Pays D’Auge Contrôlée, meaning the ciders may contain a maximum of 30% perry pears, and pot still distillation is mandatory. A sherry cask full of the spirit was sent over to Bristol for maturation (similar to how some Cognac is "early landed"). This is a real treat for any Calvados aficionado, one of only eight ‘'early landed' casks ever to be produced. Since that time, laws have changed meaning Calvados can no longer be aged outside of Normandy - so this sort of thing will not happen again, making these bottles extremely rare!"
About the Label
"Our label, designed in-house, designer Toby Dowling has a number of stories tied up in it, as you’d expect. The Lionheart is a reference to Coeur de Lion. The distillery has the trademark for spirits, but a little while back, that budget Camembert brand issued them a cease and desist so they don't use it any more. The route is the route the cask took, Ms Sherry Wood is obvious, and, the stamp shows the cows grazing beneath the high-trunk apple trees they have."
