Felton Road is located in Bannockburn, in the heart of Central Otago. Vines were first planted on the estate in 1992, and they released their first vintage in 1997. Winemaker Blair Walter has been with Felton since the 1997 vintage, crafting wines using minimal intervention, wild yeasts, no fining or filtration, allowing the unique character of the terroir to express it's personality. Their wines have gained worldwide recognition as some of the most highly regarded bottles from New Zealand’s South Island. They farm biodynamically and are fully certified by Demeter.
750 mlA distinctive nose that is deeply fruited, very integrated and with its own unique story - characteristic of the first few bottlings from MacMuir. The palate also comes over as typically bold: deep, distinguished, but urging that it wants to be put away for a while. The heavy soils of MacMuir contribute to the alluring texture and depth of tannins – completely countering its younger vine origins. A new level of maturity from this vineyard, signalling what is to come in future vintages.
