This is the second batch of Speyside Distillery #3, bottled at 6 years from a vatting of 4 sherry butts, bottled at 49.3%. The whisky is reputed to be a prominent component of a number of famous Blends, a top dresser perhaps? Sounds a bit like Glenrothes!
Producer Description
"A 6 Year Old Single Malt from an undisclosed Speyside distillery. A vatting of four ex-Sherry butts, we’ve bottled this at 49.3% abv. Yes, it’s young, but it really shows the distillery character off wonderfully without too much wood influence. Speyside whiskies have always been favoured amongst the blenders, and many of the distilleries were initially built by the blenders, and this malt has been a significant component in some very famous blends."
About the Label
"Everyone loves a good ghost story, and our label features a number of distillery ghosts, in a graveyard making a toast. There are a few ghosts you might recognise; Glendronach’s Spanish Lady, Bowmore’s Headless Horseman, oh and isn’t that Biawa ‘Byeway’ Makalaga said to have haunted The Glenrothes distillery? Then there’s The Fair Maid of Galloway, and Glen Scotia’s Duncan MacCallum."

Nose: Salted caramel fudge, followed by a Light wood smokiness.
Palate: More of those sweet and salty flavours intermingling. There’s also oranges and cranberries too.
That Boutique-y Whisky Company (TBWC) is part of the Atom Group, which also owns the UK retailer Master of Malt and a number of other subsidiaries. They are a dynamic and innovative firm, who by example invented the Whisky Advent Calendar concept. Established in 2012, TBWC is famous for its playful and colourful labels, which often feature prominent whisky industry figures, tell a story, and or elude to an inside joke. The labels are typically laced with hidden elements and "Easter Eggs."
TBWC bottles whiskies from around the world, though the bulk of their offerings are of Scottish origin. Most of their offerings are small-batch releases, Blended Malts, and Blends. Their "Head of Whisky" is Canadian Sam Simmons.
