Now that the regulations have changed a bit in the Scotch Whisky world, expect to see more and more of these crazy interesting cask types beginning to surface. For now they're just 'finishes', but I don't think it will be long before we start to see young malts entirely matured in these types of wood. In this case, the beautifully fruity spirit of Teaninich was finished in Calvados (apple brandy, essentially) after probably a decade in American Oak. Cask #707328 52.5%
